Hij heeft meer dan 25 jaar zakelijke ervaring bij Deloitte en McKinsey & Company, waar hij heeft gediend als partner, global chief learning officer, HR-manager en adviseur. Als adviseur heeft hij meer dan 100 klanten over de hele wereld bediend.

Momenteel maakt dr. Van Dam deel uit van de raad van bestuur van de IE University en is hij de chief learning officer. Hij is de directeur van het IE Center for Corporate Learning Innovation en het IE Center for Liquid Learning, en hij is lid van het IE Center for Health, Well-Being & Happiness.

Nick is ook hoogleraar aan IE University en Nyenrode Business Universiteit en hij is universitair hoofddocent aan de Universiteit van de Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.
